TDF is planning to submit a comprehensive proposal to improve the performance of the new bus services introduced under JNNURM over the short, medium and long terms. We will be handing over our list to the Transport and LSG Ministers, KSRTC MD, Mayor and Director, KSUDP towards the end of this week.

Hi there
ReplyDeleteI’m a fan of Trivandrum rising
I want to comment on the introduction of VOLVO AC and low floor buses in Trivandrum.
I think that the govt had introduced the buses a little early as the roads n the city are still to be pepped up. Especially the city bypass streach from thiruvallam to kazhakkuttam to be made into a limited access highway as in the case of Chennai bypass.
The ministers need not go to foreign countries for studying the transportation systems. Instead, our neibhour metro cities like Chennai and Bangalore are having good highways, flyovers and bypasses.
The concept of ring road to Trivandrum is good. But it will be excellent if a BRTs system is also introduced along the ring road.
Also, the city roads like MG road and sasthamangalam road, poojappura, thirumala and jagathy road and MCH pattom road are in bad shape or are not having sufficient width.
Fortunately our city has good road network. But the quality of the roads should be of international standards; that reflects the goodwill and character of a city.
